DunLash Load Securing Solutions for Uganda’s Coffee Export, Oil & Gas, and Cross-Border Freight Sectors
Cargo Securing in Uganda — Specific Challenges
Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa whose import and export cargo moves through neighbouring countries to reach the sea. The majority of Uganda’s freight transits along the Northern Corridor from the Port of Mombasa in Kenya — via Malaba or Busia to Kampala — with a growing share moving on the Central Corridor from the Port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
These multi-country freight corridors mean cargo must be secured to withstand long road distances, multiple border crossings, variable road conditions, and extended transit times.
Uganda’s economy is anchored in agriculture — coffee, tea, cotton, tobacco, fish, and cut flowers — alongside a fast-emerging oil and gas sector around Lake Albert, gold and mineral exports, and a growing manufacturing base. Uganda is also a major transit hub for cargo moving on to South Sudan and eastern DRC. Each of these sectors generates specific cargo securing requirements, from heavy oilfield and project equipment through to palletised agricultural produce and containerised manufacturing goods.
DunLash supplies Uganda’s freight operators, oil and gas contractors, and logistics companies with independently tested, SGS certified cargo securing products from our South African operations.
In addition to our cargo lashing solutions, we offer a full range of lashing systems, strapping, dunnage, desiccants, and cargo protection products. Read more about these product specifications below:
